Euroleague: De Colo and company to batter down Fenerbahce

CSKA Moscow have been a scoring machine as of late. Don’t expect them to slow down against Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul

Undefeated at home in 20 attempts, it’s an almost impossible task to overcome CSKA in Russia.

They’ve been in excellent form once again this year in the Euroleague championship and as they sit comfortably on top of Group F, they see their chance on Friday to extend their lead by beating Fenerbahce.

Dimitris Itoudis’ men haven’t lost at home since early December and have stormed through a number of teams to earn themselves a 6-1 record.

The backcourt has been so successful for them so far and they’ve seen excellent production from Nando de Colo who continues to prove he’s one of the best players the Euroleague has to offer.

Fenerbahce have a reputation as road warriors this season, winning their last seven away from home, scoring more than anyone else and they were the last team to defeat CSKA in Russia.

However, beating the onslaught they’ll face from Moscow will be just too much for them, so back CSKA to win this one.

We head to Group E for more action on Friday night as FC Barcelona face stiff opposition in the resurging ALBA Berlin.

The Germans somehow managed to topple the champions Maccabi Tel Aviv away from home last time out; a monumental feat that sees them back in the running for a playoff spot.

They have the second-best defence in the competition and will have no fear facing the Spanish giants, having beaten them in Round 1.

FC Barcelona are coming off a strong win against Galatasary that’s put them right back in the mix and they love to be at home, having the second-best scoring record at home.

They’ve been winning heavily in their last three home victories and are yet to be beaten, but this Berlin side have already been told that and a win could give them the tie-break over Barcelona should they need it.

Go for Berlin to cause yet another upset that’ll keep everything interesting in Group E, they’ve proven that they can mix it with the big boys and they’ll do so again to finish off Round 8.
