On Monday it was announced that Apple TV+ will show a documentary series recounting Lionel Messi’s move from French side PSG to Inter Miami and MLS. It promises to be a hugely intriguing show, with previously unknown, exclusive, behind-the-scenes details being uncovered and presented to the audience.
The series, which will be six episodes long, will be the second documentary on Lionel Messi created by Apple TV, after the company produced a mini, four-part series showing the player’s journey during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which Messi and Argentina were ultimately proclaimed champions.

ToggleThe six episodes will highlight moments such as the reaction that the move has caused, the fan presence in Fort Lauderdale and Miami, the full-to-the-brim DRV PNK Stadium for his debut and the huge attendances thereafter, as well as the away fans’ reaction to the huge name coming to US soccer.
The number of Season Pass subscribers will rocket after the announcement of the documentary, as Apple TV look to increase revenue which will also benefit Messi himself, given the incredibly intricate and complex contract of the player which takes earnings from both Apple and Adidas.

What is the Messi x Apple documentary called?
Messi’s impact on Apple is huge: the company signed a deal with MLS worth $250 million over 10 years and now the World Cup winner’s arrival has sealed the interest in the league for the foreseeable future.
Despite the fact that the series, which Apple says has “unprecedented access to Messi”, does not have an official name yet, the announcement shows that it will be produced by Smuggle Entertainment, that same company that created the show documenting his World Cup win, or, as Apple put it, “tracking the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner through his sensational career, including five FIFA World Cup appearances and his FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 win, in one of the most exciting finals in history.”
When is Inter Miami’s next game?
Inter Miami beat Charlotte 4-0 in the previous round of Leagues Cup and the side’s next match will be against Philadelphia Union on Tuesday 15 August, in the semi-finals of Leagues Cup. The incredibly tough game will test the Messi-led side to the maximum and a win would put them one step away from Messi’s first taste of silverware with his new club. Kick off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET / 4:00 PT.
